Do you know that with Blogger, we can create a free blog and make money by showing ads with Google Adsense or other ad platform. In this post I have discussed all the necessary steps to connect an Adsense account with your blog account.

Important: Be sure to complete this entire process without stopping until you’ve clicked Redirect.

Sign up for AdSense to show ads

  1. Sign in to your Google Blog by clicking the following link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. At the top in the left side of the screen, click the Down arrow.
  3. Now select the blog you want to run ads.
  4. In the left menu, click Earnings  
    • If your blog is eligible for the adsense you will see a button Sign up for AdSense. Click the button.
    • If you don’t find the button, check the AdSense eligibility requirements to find out why you your blog has not qualified for AdSense.
  5. Now you have to choose the Google email which is associated with your Blogger account.
  6. Fill out AdSense form by clicking Create account..
  7. Now fill your details for AdSense payment. While filling the details be careful and double check all your information.
  8. Now verify your phone number by clicking Submit.
  9. The system will automatically take you to Blogger to finish the process.
  10. If you are not redirected to the Blogger platform then click Redirect.
  11. If you’re interrupted before you click Redirect, or if you find the message: “we’re working on setting you up” on your AdSense homepage for more than a few days:
    1. Go through steps 1-5 again.  
    2. Click Accept association.

Show ads between your posts

Now after adding adsense to your blog we need to set up the ads on our posts so they can be displayed where we want. Blogger has very simple way of putting ads in your blog. Just follow the step by step guidelines discussed below:

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. At the top in the left side of the screen, click the Down arrow.
  3. Now select the blog you want to show adsense ads.
  4. In the left menu, click the Layout option.
  5. Depending on your blog template design:
    1. In “Blog Posts” under “Page Body,” click Edit.
    2. In “Blog Posts” under “Main,” click Edit.
  6. A window will appear after the click, check the box next to “Show Ads Between Posts.”
  7. Now you can choose the ad format, colors, and how often the ads should appear.
  8. Click the Save button to save your current setting for the blog. 

Wow, you have successfully completed the ads setting for showing them in between the posts.

Now we will see how to add ads in the column section.

Show ads in the columns

Now suppose if i want to show ads in the my column section then you can follow the below step by step process to show ads in a particular column of your page.

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. In the left menu, click the Layout option.
  3. Now click Add a Gadget link on the page.
  4. Select the AdSense gadget and click the Add button .
  5. Now click configure AdSense and click the Save option.
  6. In the top right, click Save arrangement button.

Congratulations you have successfully added the Adsense ads in your column area.

Show ads from other ad services

In the starting of the posts I have told you that you can also add ad services other than Google adsense in your blogs. You can try various other ad services for your blogs and find out which ad services pays you best.

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. In the top left, click the Down arrow button .
  3. Now select the blog you want to show ads on.
  4. In the left menu, click the Layout option.
  5. Now select the area where you want to place the ads and click the Add a gadget option.
  6. In the window that appears, under “Basics,” find HTML/Javascript and click the Add button .
  7. Now enter a title (optional). The title is optional but we recommend to add a title as it may help you later.
  8. Copy and paste the code from the ad service website into the content section and click Save button. 

Congrats!!! your ads placement for other ads service is done perfectly. Now you will see the ads from other ad services in your blog.

See your Blogger earnings report

After setting up the ads in our Blogger blogs every one requires some reporting for their earning and keeping this in mind the blogger has added the detailed report section for the same. To find out the detailed earning report for your blog follow the below steps:

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Select the blog you want to see a report for by clicking the arrow button in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Now click Earnings option in the sidebar.
  4. Click on the link Visit AdSense for details of my earnings.

You will see the detailed report for your earning and other blog information.

What to do if AdSense isn’t turning on

If you are Adsense is not turning up then you may follow the below mentioned steps to fix the issue.

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. In the top left corner, click the Down arrow button .
  3. Now select the blog for which you have added the Adsense.
  4. In the left menu, click the Layout option.
  5. Now in the AdSense gadget, click the Edit button and then click Save button.
  6. Repeat the steps 4 and 5 for every AdSense gadget on your blog that you have added.
  7. At the bottom of your “Blog Posts” gadget, click the Edit button and then click Save button.
  8. In the top right, click the Save arrangement button.
  9. Now to check that your account is still active, go to AdSense profile.

The above mentioned steps will fix your issue 90% of the time. If you are still facing the issue you may contact Google for the same.

Set up an ads.txt file

If you have monetized your blog with third-party providers or you have manually integrated AdSense in your blog the you will need to manually set up the content of the ads.txt file. To set up the content for ads.txt file follow the guidelines step by step:

  1. First sign in to your Google blogger account by clicking the link Sign in to Blogger.
  2. In the top left, click the Down arrow button.
  3. Now select the blog you want to set up an ads.txt file on.
  4. On the left menu, click Settings option.
  5. Under “Settings,” click Search preferences option.
  6. Under “Monetization,” find “Custom ads.txt” and click the Edit button and then click Yes.
  7. Copy the settings from your third-party monetization provider and paste them in the text box and click Save settings button.
  8. OptionalTo check and confirm the content of your ads.txt file, go to http://<your blog address>/ads.txt.

Point to remember: If your blog is not monetized, or it’s only configured to use AdSense using the Blogger-AdSense integration, then you do not need to manually set up ads.txt. Blogger will do this for you. Read more about ads.txt for AdSense.
